April 26, 2021 DOI: 10.64239/pi-qt2602
Summary
Psilocybin was found to be more effective than a delayed-treatment control group in patients with major depression, showing an effect size greater than 2. This indicates a significant improvement in depressive symptoms compared to those who did not receive immediate treatment. In contrast, typical antidepressants have an average effect size of 0.3.

Abstract
In patients with major depression, psilocybin was superior to a delayed-treatment control group with an effect size over 2 (relative effect sizes: 0.2 small, 0.5 medium, 1.0 large; antidepressants, on average, are 0.3). Who were these patients? Are they like yours?
