Summary

A new mathematical model proposes that time is quantized at the Planck scale, with particles existing as fields between discrete time frames and re-emerging at each step. Consciousness arises from the interference pattern of neural oscillators, with clarity defined by phase coherence. The model estimates human perception accesses only about 10^-41% of information in the Planck field, explaining limits on measuring subjective experience. It reinterprets quantum collapse as a discrete particle emergence sampled by the observer's neural network, aligning with recent findings on alpha-rhythm modulation and neural synchronization.

Abstract

This paper proposes a unified mathematical framework that bridges quantum mechanics, neuroscience, and the philosophy of consciousness. It addresses the "hard problem" of consciousness and the quantum measurement problem by introducing three fundamental postulates: Discrete Time: Time is quantized at the Planck scale (tP≈5.4×10−44tP≈5.4×10−44 s). Field-Particle Duality as Rendering: Particles do not move continuously but exist as fields between discrete Planck frames, re-emerging as localized entities at each time step. Wave-particle duality is derived as a theorem of this discrete rendering process. Consciousness as Interference: Subjective experience arises from the interference pattern Φ(r⃗,t)Φ(r,t) of neural oscillators. The clarity of consciousness is defined by phase coherence C(t)C(t), modeled using the Kuramoto order parameter. Key Contributions: The 72° Geometric Filter: The model introduces a geometric projector based on pentagonal symmetry (72∘72∘), ubiquitous in biological structures, which filters the Planck-scale field into 3D perceptual space. Quantification of Perception: We estimate that human consciousness perceives only η≈10−41%η≈10−41% of the total information in the Planck field, explaining why direct measurement of subjective experience is fundamentally limited. Resolution of the Measurement Problem: "Collapse" is reinterpreted not as a mystical event, but as the discrete emergence of a particle at a specific frame update, sampled by the observer's neural network. Empirical Predictions & Alignment with 2025-2026 Data: The model aligns with recent findings in: Alpha-Rhythm Modulation: Individual Alpha Frequency (IAF) as the temporal sampling rate of reality (Nature Communications, 2026). Neural Synchronization: Hierarchical Kuramoto models describing brain criticality (PNAS, 2026). Inter-Brain Entanglement: Quantum-like correlations in empathetic dyads (PNAS, 2026). Testable Predictions: Meditation increases phase coherence C(t)C(t), correlating with gamma-band EEG synchronization. Empathetic interaction leads to measurable cross-brain phase locking (CABCAB). Perceptual bias towards stimuli with 72∘72∘ (pentagonal) symmetry. Intuitive decision-making correlates with the gradient of the interference field ∇∣Φ∣2∇∣Φ∣2. This work provides a falsifiable, engineering-grade ontology of reality, suggesting that matter is "frozen light" and consciousness is the active demodulation of the Planck carrier wave.
