Summary
A qualitative study explored how individuals with persistent pain experienced compassion-based practice within a mindfulness for health program. Participants reported that cultivating compassion helped them relate to their pain with less self-criticism and greater acceptance. The practice fostered a sense of connection and reduced feelings of isolation. The findings suggest that compassion-based approaches may offer psychological benefits for people living with chronic pain, complementing traditional pain management strategies.
