Abstract
Stan Scott has taught philosophy, literature, and writing for many years at the University of Maine— Presque Isle. Current interests include studies in the Bible as literature, environmental ethics, philosophy of education, and literature of peace and justice. He is the author of Frontiers of Consciousness: Studies in American Philosophy and Poetry (Fordham UP, 1991, 1994) and numerous scholarly articles in such journals as Thoreau Quarterly, Philosophy and Literature, and Thought.
