Abstract
Abstract This study aimed to analyze the near death experiences, its perceived effects and coping mechanisms of the two participants who were purposively chosen. The descriptive method (case study) was used in this study. The constructed questionnaire and adapted coping mechanisms questionnaire were used to produce the needed data. The constructed questionnaire was validated by an expert. The perceived effect of the near-death experience was analyzed through the use of the constructed questionnaire as a guide in the interview. The coping mechanisms by the participants were analyzed using the constructed and adapted questionnaire. The respondents’ age during the conduct of the study ranges from 50–65 years old and they came from different locations. The respondents saw a very bright light and they also saw their deceased family members during their critical state. The near-death experienced has a big effect on the respondents in their physical and spiritual aspects. The coping mechanism of the respondents were always on emotional and spiritual context.
