A social movement is a dynamic phenomenon requiring a theoretical perspective suited to analyzing change. An interactionist perspective offers such a dynamic mode of analysis. After a historical overview of the LSD movement led by Timothy Leary, the movement's genesis, the development of its ideology and program, and the motivational factors in recruiting adherents are examined through this lens.
