Influence of solvent, sex, and age on pharmacokinetic and acute behavioral effects of vaporized cannabis extract in mice

Vaporized cannabis extract dissolved in polyethylene glycol 400 (PEG) produces higher plasma THC levels and stronger behavioral effects than when dissolved in propylene glycol/vegetable glycerol. In mice, the highest dose (300 mg/ml) caused reduced body temperature, pain sensitivity, and movement. Adolescent mice were less sensitive to the movement-suppressing effects than adults, and female mice metabolized THC more slowly than males, though no sex differences in acute behavioral effects were observed.
