Global consciousness and cosmic significance of lines from Wordsworth’s poem Tintern Abbey
Diálogo June 30, 2023 S. Edwards
A heuristic phenomenological method examines Wordsworth's poem Tintern Abbey as an inductive case study to introduce the Global Consciousness Project (GCP) and its updated version GCP2, now housed by the HeartMath Institute. The analysis connects Wordsworth's 'felt sense' with Teilhard de Chardin's concept of the noosphere and the GCP's aim to study interconnectedness. Previous South African research with traditional healers led to collaboration with HeartMath and the establishment of an African Global Coherence Initiative Magnetometer, one of six planetary magnetometers. The paper argues that contemporary planetary crises—chaos, pollution, destructiveness, and war—provide urgent justification for GCP2's work in amplifying interconnectedness science and global healing practices.
