A Century of the Quantum Zeitgeist. From the Pioneers of Field and Form to the Information Fields Physical Theory.

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) July 13, 2026 Erico de Lima Azevedo

Over the hundred years since quantum mechanics was formulated in 1925, a perspective has emerged across physics, biology, the human sciences, and the study of mind in which organizational form and information appear as fundamental features of reality, not merely matter and energy. This recurrence is best understood as a Zeitgeist, not coincidence or teleology. The paper revisits pioneers such as Bohm in physics; morphogenetic-field theorists, Sheldrake, and the biophotonic line of Gurwitsch, Kaznacheev, and Popp in biology; Husserl and Meneghetti in the human sciences; and Vasiliev, Cold-War state programs, Mitchell, and Radin in the study of non-local mind.

A Physical Account of Consciousness in the Information Fields Framework

Zenodo (CERN European Organization for Nuclear Research) July 4, 2026 Erico de Lima Azevedo

Consciousness arises from a bidirectional cascade that begins with subatomic field-level organizational signals, passes through molecular transduction, enteric-autonomic unification, and reticular gating, and culminates in cortical representation as an integrated surface readout. A coupling mechanism called resonance by identification determines what emerges from the field for an organism based on the degree and sign of identification with its energetic structure. Microtubule quantum dynamics are repositioned as a transduction mechanism within the cascade, not as the whole of consciousness.
