Interest in using psychedelic substances like psilocybin, LSD, and MDMA to treat major depression, PTSD, and substance addiction has grown, but clinical use remains limited by legal obstacles. This analysis examines national and international regulations, finding that countries differ widely: the United States is beginning to enable research and clinical use, while others maintain strict prohibitions. The findings offer policymakers, health practitioners, and researchers insights into the legal frameworks and challenges for integrating psychedelic substances into clinical practice, potentially guiding policies for safe and responsible access to psychedelic therapy.
