Patellofemoral pain (PFP) is a common knee disorder linked to persistent pain, reduced function, and altered psychological factors. This assessor-blinded, parallel, two-arm randomized clinical trial will examine whether adding an 8-week online mindfulness-based intervention (MBI) to exercise therapy and patient education improves clinical and psychological outcomes for people with PFP. Sixty-two participants will be randomized to either a mindfulness group or a control group, both receiving exercise and education online. The mindfulness group will also receive formal and informal mindfulness practices. Outcomes will be assessed at baseline, after the intervention, and at 12 months. The study also aims to test whether psychological factors mediate changes in pain and function.
