Resurrecting Ancestral Familial Health: A Role for Psilocybin?
The Family Journal August 9, 2024 Ashley Glowiak 1 citation
A narrative review argues that high-dose psilocybin-assisted therapy, when combined with family systems interventions such as family constellations, somatic integration, and emotional intelligence, could help modern families realign with the evolved developmental niche (EDN)—a set of caregiving practices rooted in human evolutionary biology that support bonding, emotional regulation, and well-being. The author examines transdisciplinary evidence and concludes that a family-centered psilocybin protocol may heal intergenerational trauma and restore EDN components, supporting a cultural shift toward meeting humans' social mammalian physiological needs.
