The Promise of Mindfulness-Based Interventions: A Stress-Reduction Strategy for Testicular Cancer Survivors' Health-Related Quality of Life.

Cancer medicine February 1, 2026 Michael J Rovito, Colin F O'Mahony, Kamalie Thomas et al.

Testicular cancer survivors often face diminished health-related quality of life due to identity disruptions, fear of recurrence, and sexual dysfunction, yet few interventions address these multidimensional stressors. This narrative review examines existing literature and evaluates mindfulness-based interventions as a potential therapeutic strategy. Evidence from broader cancer populations shows that mindfulness practices can reduce psychological distress and improve emotional regulation. The authors note that no fully developed mindfulness trials have been designed specifically for testicular cancer survivors, and they call for implementing such strategies to enhance post-treatment outcomes and reduce disparities in male mental health care.
