This article results from a collaboration among the authors. The drawings created by MAHKU – the Huni Kuin Artists Movement – based on the huni meka songs, songs of nixi pae (ayahuasca), serve as a starting point for Ibã Huni Kuin's commentary and his method of translating the language of the songs, which he calls "putting or placing into sense." The first part briefly presents the trajectory of MAHKU, portrayed in the audiovisual essay The Dream of Nixi Pae (Dir. Amilton Mattos, 2015), and the research work of Ibã and the collective of Huni Kuin artists both within and outside the university.
