Classic psychedelics, including tryptamines like psilocybin and LSD and phenethylamines like MDMA and mescaline, have been used therapeutically for millennia across cultures and should not be called 'novel therapeutic agents.' Tryptamines are currently more studied. Most psychedelics are medically safe, but ibogaine and NBOMe compounds carry risks that need more discussion.
