The article examines how music can lead listeners to mystical or transcendental experiences. It first defines these experiences and then surveys historical philosophical perspectives from Plato, Hegel, Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Langer, Gadamer, and Jankélévitch. The analysis focuses on philosophical concepts that identify specific musical features—such as artistic expression, aesthetic qualities, and ethical dimensions—that may induce such experiences. The work is a theoretical and philosophical paper, not an empirical study.
