Mystical Hunger

Indonesian Journal of Theology September 10, 2020 L. Leonard

Hunger can be a site for mystical encounter with God, drawing on Christian mystical traditions where personal experience shapes theology. The article defines mystical theology, then explores Simone Weil's view of hunger as mystical experience and Dorothee Solle's idea that such experience drives social transformation. Together, they show hunger as both an intimate experience with God and a means for hospitality that breaks down social barriers.
