Consciousness Beyond Evolving Technology (AI): The Advaita Insights

Research Review Journal of Indian Knowledge Systems December 31, 2025 K.v. Raghupathi

Artificial Intelligence can duplicate many mental abilities, but it cannot replicate the human mind's capacity for subjective experience or the consciousness that Advaita philosophy describes as the substratum of creation. The article examines the difference between human and AI consciousness through the lens of Advaita, discusses AI literacy and bioethics principles, and concludes that artificial consciousness differs fundamentally from human consciousness. It argues that current knowledge of consciousness is insufficient for an educated opinion on conscious AI.
