On the purity of European consciousness in the existential anthropology of early M. Heidegger

The purity of human consciousness has become an abstraction in European culture, leading to disagreements about its nature. Martin Heidegger's work leaves the question of pure consciousness open. Early Heidegger, focused on Dasein, did not fully grasp pure consciousness, but he saw temporality as fundamental to understanding being and consciousness itself. Toward the end of "Being and Time," Heidegger began to view consciousness as arising from the horizon of time and being, suggesting that pure human consciousness may be pure time, with its original meaning lying in directed temporalizing. This temporalizing, arising from the future and perceived in three modes, reveals consciousness's fundamental nature. The ontological meaning of pure human consciousness is temporality. Heidegger's work transitions from fundamental ontology (Dasein) to existential anthropology (human consciousness).
