Is mediated embodiment the response to embodied cognition?

Adopting virtual reality and robotic avatars that users temporarily experience as their own body could provide strong evidence for embodied cognition, the theory that bodily interactions with the environment shape thinking. The author argues that these mediated embodiment technologies offer a powerful way to test and demonstrate core postulates of embodied cognition.
