A hospital system implemented Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for nurses to help manage stress and reduce burnout. The program emphasizes self-care, compassion, and healing. The article describes this implementation and reports on its effects using both quantitative and qualitative data. MBSR has growing empirical support as a patient-care intervention and is now being applied to support the well-being of healthcare workers.

The Effect of Mindfulness Breathing Meditation on Psychological Well-being

Mindfulness breathing meditation improved psychological well-being among nurses caring for COVID-19 patients. Fifty nurses were divided into an intervention group and a control group of 25 each. Scores on the Indonesian version of the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-being Scale showed significant differences between pre- and post-intervention means for both groups.
