Psychedelic Renaissance

UC Merced Undergraduate Research Journal January 1, 2024 Jose Miranda

Psychedelic substances, once classified as Schedule 1 drugs with no medicinal value and high abuse potential, are now being researched for treating mental conditions. Studies on LSD and MDMA have shown positive physical and mental benefits with no addiction or bodily harm. Research on neuroplasticity indicates that the brain can restructure itself through new learning under the influence of psychedelics. Scientists have legal authority to study these substances, and open source projects like Golden Euphorics provide public access to safe products. Further research is needed to ensure public safety.
