Plant dehydration, alkaloid concentration, and cytotoxicity on ayahuasca traditional tea

Amazon Expedition Magazine. March 1, 2024 Ordilena Ferreira de Miranda, Marcílio de Almeida, Ilza Maria de Oliveira Sousa et al.

Ayahuasca tea is a decoction made from leaves of the Psychotria viridis shrub and stems of the Banisteriopsis caapi vine, a preparation used in traditional indigenous medicine of the Amazon for healing and spiritual rituals since pre-Columbian times. The tea is a fundamental element of indigenous cultures in Colombia, Peru, and Brazil.
