A review of literature from 2000 to 2006 indicates that Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) effectively reduces stress and anxiety in daily life and chronic illness, with no documented negative side effects. MBSR also benefits healthcare providers by improving their interactions with patients. The evidence supports MBSR as a safe, integrative approach that nurse practitioners can use across diverse patient populations.
