Mystical mobilities and entheogenic Latin America

Journal of Transport History December 1, 2017 Guillermo Giucci 1 citation

This paper introduces the concept of 'mystical mobility' to describe forms of travel and use of mobility resources that fall outside conventional transport studies. It proposes that entheogens, or psychoactive substances, can be part of mobility experiences, and explores how physical journeys and mystical or drug-induced trips intersect. The work discusses alternative cultural geographies and suggests new research directions for mobility studies by broadening the definition of mobility to include these non-traditional forms.
