A single 20-25-minute Heartfulness meditation session with yogic transmission produced immediate physiological and psychological benefits for first-year MBBS students. Nearly 90% of students experienced deep relaxation, and pulse and respiratory rates showed significant reductions. The study was conducted across five cohorts at GSVM Medical College, Kanpur, in response to the Indian National Medical Commission's integration of yoga and meditation into the Foundation Course to promote resilience and holistic growth during the stressful transition from school to medical college.
Among 60 primiparous post-cesarean mothers aged 21-35, those who practiced Benson's Relaxation Technique for 10 minutes twice daily over three days reported significantly less pain than those who received standard care alone. After the intervention, 76.66% of the experimental group reported no pain, whereas most of the control group still experienced mild to moderate pain. The technique, a structured meditation-based intervention, appears to be an effective non-pharmacological approach for reducing post-cesarean pain.
Receptive Provocation therapy, a multisensory stimulation approach, improves cognitive function and level of consciousness in patients with traumatic brain injury. In a randomized trial, 70 patients were assigned to either an experimental group that received 20-25 minutes of RP therapy daily for seven days or a control group that received routine care. Assessments on day eight showed significant improvements in cognitive function and consciousness in the experimental group, while the control group showed no significant changes. The findings suggest that RP therapy is an effective intervention for enhancing recovery after TBI.
