Merleau-Ponty's notion of flesh (chair) unites rather than opposes the philosophy of perception and body with an ontology of flesh. The experience of expression of the body and the word is interpreted through the essentially reversible phenomenon of flesh as an element. Perception is conceived as language, showing the embodiment of meaning. The power of expression of the word is understood as a transmutation of the sense of perception into the very sense of the word, in its flesh. This approach distances from interpretations that see two opposite paths in Merleau-Ponty's work.
