Neural correlates of consciousness and complexity
Japanese Journal of Physiological Psychology and Psychophysiology January 1, 2022 K. Onoda
Consciousness has long been studied in philosophy and psychology, but only recently has it become a legitimate subject of neuroscience. This review outlines how neuroscience has approached the problem of consciousness, highlighting experimental and information-theoretic advances. The author then introduces their own research exploring the neural basis of consciousness through integrated information theory, linking consciousness to brain complexity.
