The psychedelic mind: Current user perceptions of psychedelic drugs and their use

People who have used psychedelic drugs in Aotearoa New Zealand hold four main attitudes: historical misinformation still shapes current views; knowledge about psychedelics is unevenly distributed; current prohibition policies are seen as ineffective and in need of change; and psychedelics are believed to have therapeutic potential. These views come from interviews with 19 individuals. The findings suggest a need for greater public education about psychedelics to reduce stigma and harm.
