Novel Synthetic Mixed Hallucinogen/Stimulants: Diagnosis and Treatment

Synthetic mixed hallucinogen/stimulants produce effects that combine those of a conventional hallucinogen and a stimulant. Intoxication can cause severe neuropsychiatric complications such as psychosis, delirium, and seizures. The clinical effects may persist for several days, which is much longer than those of conventional hallucinogens or stimulants. Treatment is supportive and symptomatic because no specific antidote exists.
