Optimization of the separation of lysergic acid diethylamide in urine by a sweeping technique using micellar electrokinetic chromatography

A method using capillary electrophoresis with fluorescence detection was developed to separate and concentrate LSD and related compounds (iso-LSD and LAMPA) in human urine. The technique employed the surfactant SDS and optimized buffer pH, surfactant concentration, and organic solvent content. Two on-line concentration approaches, sweeping-MEKC and CSEI-sweep-MEKC, were evaluated for their sensitivity, precision, and simplicity. The work describes the analytical procedure and compares the performance of these concentration techniques for detecting these compounds in urine samples.
