Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) combined with standard psychoeducation reduces anxiety and improves quality of life more than psychoeducation alone in Stage III breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. In a quasi-experimental study of 30 patients, both groups showed significant anxiety reduction, but the MBCT group had a greater median improvement on the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS-A). MBCT also significantly improved functional and symptom scores on the EORTC QLQ-C30 quality-of-life questionnaire, though the global quality-of-life score improvement was not statistically significant in multivariate analysis.
