A randomized controlled trial with 66 pregnant women diagnosed with pre-eclampsia tested a mindfulness-based breathing exercise. The experimental group performed 20 minutes of the exercise every 8 hours for 72 hours. Compared to the control group, the exercise group showed a 59.2% positive increase in health profile over time. Improvements included a 10% decrease in pain, 11.4% decrease in emotional reactions, 80.7% increase in sleep quality, 13.3% decrease in social isolation, 38.8% increase in physical activity, and 87.1% increase in energy level. Vital signs improved: pulse rate decreased 9.8%, respiratory rate decreased 15.8%, oxygen saturation increased 73.
