The Fate of Lysergic Acid Di[14C]ethylamide ([14C]LSD) in the Rat

In rats, radiolabeled LSD was administered and its distribution and elimination were tracked. The compound was rapidly cleared from the blood and taken up by tissues, with the highest concentrations found in the liver, kidney, and lung. Most of the radioactivity was excreted in the bile and urine within 24 hours, indicating that LSD is quickly metabolized and eliminated from the body.
