The Relationship Between Ketamine and Memory Impairment: A Systematic Review
Cumhuriyet Tıp Dergisi/Cumhuriyet Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi dergisi May 21, 2024 Ghaith Al-Badran
A systematic review of 50 studies found consistent evidence for a negative association between ketamine use and memory deterioration. The relationship is complex and challenging to characterize; some studies examined gender differences but yielded inconclusive results. Ketamine's effects extend beyond cognition to depression, suicidal ideation, and other neurocognitive functions. Further research is required to clarify this association.
