Yogic texts such as the Haṭha Yoga Pradīpikā (HYP) describe psychophysiological states and experiential phenomena that resemble concepts in parapsychology and neuropsychology. This review aimed to develop a theoretical framework explaining how yogic practices influence consciousness, cognitive processes, and altered states of awareness by integrating yogic, parapsychological, and neuroscientific perspectives. A conceptual review approach was used, systematically examining classical yogic literature, parapsychological studies, and contemporary neuroscientific findings to identify shared principles and mechanisms.
