Summary
Dexmedetomidine significantly reduced postoperative anxiety in a clinical trial involving 120 patients undergoing gynecologic surgical procedures. In this randomized controlled trial, 78% of participants receiving dexmedetomidine reported lower anxiety levels compared to 52% in the ketamine group. The findings suggest that dexmedetomidine may serve as an effective anxiolytic option in anesthesia, enhancing patient comfort during the perioperative period.
