Soft is hard: building resilience with loving kindness meditation at work

International Journal of Complementary & Alternative Medicine January 1, 2018 Itai Ivtzan 19 citations

Loving-kindness meditation (LKM) training increased psychological resilience and reduced depression, anxiety, and stress among employees at Microsoft Corporation in the United Kingdom. Over a seven-week intervention, 13 employees who practiced LKM showed significant improvements, while a wait-list control group of 15 employees showed no significant changes. The results suggest that LKM is an effective strategy for building resilience and improving employee adaptability to workplace stress.

Meditation, Music and Medicine are three gifts from the Goddess Muses Mousike

International Journal of Complementary & Alternative Medicine January 1, 2023 Hiroshi Bando, H. Ogawa, Kei Tanaka et al. 1 citation

The text proposes that three elements from Greek mythology—meditation, music, and medicine (the three M's)—can be combined to improve health and well-being. Mindfulness meditation focuses awareness on the present moment. Solfeggio frequency music, particularly 528Hz, may have relaxing and health benefits. Medicine provides evidence-based treatments. Although these elements are distinct, their combination is presented as a powerful method for health control, leading to wellness, happiness, and the practice of a philosophy called Hinohara-ism.
