Abstract
Este artigo apresenta o universo cultural e simbólico da Barquinha, religião ayahuasqueira brasileira localizada em Rio Branco (Acre), que realiza, entre outros tipos de rituais, trabalhos de “cura.” O foco central da investigação é o papel das visões obtidas pelo uso ritual da Ayahuasca em processos de conscientização em situações de enfermidades. Tais visões são conhecidas pelos freqüentadores da Barquinha como “mirações.” As mirações tornariam conscientes muitas das dimensões extra-materiais do ritual, além de auxiliarem nos processo de transformação subjetiva e física dos participantes.
